Senior Farmers’Market Nutritional Program provides each eligible senior one $24.00 check booklet per season to purchase locally grown produce.
Who is eligible to receive assistance?
- A resident of Montgomery or Rowan Counties
- Age 60+ at day of issuance
- Meet the income criteria which is less or equal to 130% of poverty level
What type of information must clients provide?
- Proof of income (payroll sub, proof of Social Security benefits, SSI benefits
retirement benefits, ect.)
- proof of age (drivers license, birth certificate, I.D.)
- proof of residency (drivers license, Award Letter, Disability papers, copy of check)
How much assistance will be provided?
- One checks booklet per season. The voucher booklet has six $4.00 checks totaling $24.00.
- Checks can be used at any authorized SrFMNP market
- Checks are good for the purchase of locally grown produce
- Checks are provided to the counties based on the number of Commodity Supplemental Food Program recipients and the number of people that are on the Commodity Supplemental Food Program waiting list.
There must be a completed Certificate of Eligibility for the Commodity Program or completion of a Commodity Supplemental Food Program application for each participant in the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program must be done.
