Kentucky Utilities Home Energy Assistance Program (HEA) serves Bath, Montgomery and Rowan counties. When an application is taken for the HEA program or a customer that is already on the program completes a yearly recertification Gateway CAA received monetary funds. These are non-restricted funds that are used for clients in need and are not limited to customers of Kentucky Utilities.
Who is eligible to receive assistance?
- A resident of Bath, Montgomery and Rowan Counties
- 130 % of the poverty level
What type of information must customers provide?
- Recent copies of utility bills (if utility assistance), landlord statement or mortgage bill (if housing or rental assistance)
- Proof of income (payroll stubs, proof of Social Security, SSI, unemployment insurance benefit, retirement benefit, etc)
- Since these funds are non-restricted you must have a bill or statement to prove a need that is to be paid (utility bill, pharmacy statement, car repair bill, etc)
- Proof of 911 physical address
How much assistance will be provided?
- Assistance amount is determined on a case by case assessment by the outreach worker and is based on the amount of funding that is available when application is taken
