Home Energy Discount Assistance Program (AEP)
The American Electric Power/Kentucky Power Home Energy Assistance Program (AEP) assist clients’ energy bill. It assists with the management of household budgets. Eligible participants are given a subsidy during peak heating and cooling months to help manage energy costs combining in a savings of approximately $455 a year.
Who is eligible to receive assistance?
- Residents of Morgan and Rowan County
- Must be at or below 130 % of the federal poverty guideline
- Clients must be a Kentucky Power customer
- Eligible for & participates with the LIHEAP Subsidy program (low-income households and responsible for the payment of household utility cost).
- Clients must apply for Weatherization services
What type of information must a client have?
- Client must provide a copy of their electric bill
- Social Security numbers of everyone in household
- Proof of income for everyone in household for the previous month
- Proof of physical 911 address
- Birthdates & other pertinent information for everyone in household
How much assistance will be provided?
Credits are made to your Kentucky Power account—7 months per year. A savings up to
$455.00 per year towards lower heating and cooling bills.
